Short answer: no. I would miss it now if I saw the original. Frankly, I would call that one step forward, two steps back. Now, that same cut plays as a more conventional transition.

The eloquence of it is gone. The second major addition I have similar mixed feelings about. All good, right? Yes and no.

It leaves you with an enhanced feeling of how uncomfortable Jackson is at being shunted into the background.

Yet extras — cutting-room curios — is really all they are. Great movies live in the deep end. Special extra value-added scenes are, by nature, closer to the shallow.

I saw people saying she was robbed out of an Oscar, they must be die -hard fans because she was awful! I have to ask what movie were they warching?

Cooper who I have always felt kind of "meh" about is fantastic. He puts his heart and soul into this film and it shows.

His version of worn out drunk was believable. What was not was great was their chemistry which is funny because I think there was something electric between them at the Oscars but didn't feel it here at all.

I guess we would have to chalk that up to her poor acting skills. She was too wooden to have chemistry with anything.

The writing was also weak. Jack was a miserable sob who never felt loveable to begin with, it's hard to fathom why she would have fallen in love with him, I just didn't buy it.

I felt like Gaga's character was written for someone 20 years ago, it didn't feel fresh at all. They were just there, eating up time. Sam Elliott was a great addition, but he's always good and his role made sense, the others not so much.

They just seemed unnecessary to an overly long movie. All in all this movie was too long, especially the songs I think his songs were better and more solid than hers which felt very old and dated.

I think if he had made this movie with a stronger actress I may have enjoyed it more. She should take some acting classes if she wants to continue as an acteess.

She has some kind of spark, you are drawn to her but that doesn't make her an actress. All in all I'd say Cooper did a great job, Gaga not so much.

I felt like I was the last woman alive who has yet to see this movie, so I had some free time yesterday so I watched it.

And wow! I was absolutely blown away. The chemistry was amazing, and the music was amazing as well. Bradley Coopers voice was incredible.

This movie showed a love story dealing with a heavy addiction, without cheating and abuse. I don't think we realize there are many relationships where one is an addict, yet, there is no abuse and cheating.

This truly resonated with me. My husband has battled with a life-long addiction, and has never been abusive, nor has he cheated. Regardless of his addiction, he has always loved me to his core, and has always treated me extremely well.

There is a huge misconception of addiction, where many assume all relationships with addicts are abusive. Although many are, mine has never been and we have a 28 year history.

Since I was 14 years old When Ally questioned if Jackson would love her the same sober, I felt this, as this was one of my biggest fears with my husband.

Will I be enough for him clean? Will he still love me the same? Will his love be as intense? This was a very valid fear of mine.

I have watched many movies in my time, but this, the story line pertaining to addiction was so different.

The ending shocked me, and I don't think I was ready for this, another thing that shook me to my core. A great movie, great acting, amazing chemistry and just an incredible soundtrack.

Very well-done and a must watch for anyone who loves music and an amazing love story. When this movie first came out, it looked interesting to me but nothing I was "dying" to see.

I immediately went to Amazon and bought the soundtrack. Listen to it all the time. Watched all the YouTube videos on it, especially the Oscar performance of "Shallow".

Can't wait for the video to be released. I finally got it a few days ago. I was not disappointed. Whatcha remarkable movie.

I was blown away by her performance. I watched it on a huge screen and it was very enjoyable. I anticipate watching it over and over again.

My favorite movie of all-time is "Gone With The Wind" but it is not a movie I can watch over and over again. It's very emotionally draining for me.

This movie is different. I get swept away in the music. Need to get more popcorn and watch it again.

Whenever I want because I finally have a digital copy of the movie! Wow, I was not impressed with this film. I don't get the great positive reviews.

It dragged, was all over the place, was depressing, hard to understand at times and had major plot holes. Neither character was that likable.

Lady Gaga of course is a great singer and she can actually act, but this material was so sloppy it didn't do her great justice.

Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga were amazing. Mar 28, This was sort of a weird movie for me. Here's the thing: this movie is manipulative as hell, don't try to deny it.

It's tear porn, and it's explicit and deliberate in is manipulative intentions. However, I can't deny that the manipulation works and I was weirdly never bothered by the manipulation.

It doesn't have the same sense of grotesque self-importance that something like This is Us on TV or any number of Oscar bait movies past have had in their tear-porn intentions.

There's something about A Star is Born that feels much more genuine in its motivations. It feels, dare I say, grittier.

I think a big part of that is Bradley Cooper's direction, he makes the whole thing feel real and grounded and keeps us with him.

It's an over-the-top and melodramatic story, but somehow he directs it in a way that never feels that way, which is honestly a work of magic on his part.

In interviews, Gaga has said the authentic version of herself is the theatrical one we see in concerts and music videos. But, in this movie, we see her raw and that's the version that makes the biggest impact.
