And I feel sorry for the author, Heidi McLaughlin, who wrote a pretty decent book only for the movie to have been rewritten into something that is being categorized as a Nicholas Sparks movie.

Nothing was portrayed as in the book. I don't even understand why they based it off the book if they weren't going to use any of the material from the book!!!

Who ever thought middle-school science could have application in casting for the film industry, but it does. Even in a rom-com chick flick. The plot and acting were mediocre.

This movie was a real disappointment. It's not worth the time or money. What was especially annoying is that Josie took Liam back and acted all starry-eyed about his fame after everything he had done to her.

I have read the book and loved it and loved the movie. But other than the love story and character names not much is in common with the book and movie.

This movie is very clean and could be shown to young adults with no problems. Just don't go looking for the book in the movie just enjoy the movie as its own story.

I loved the movie. It was sweet and filled with a poignant depth I just didn't find with the book. I enjoyed the book, but honestly can't say if it's because I had already seen the movie and wanted more time with the characters and the story.

People who have read the book and seen the movie know there's very little resemblance. The names are the same for Liam and Josie, there's a surprise child, and a small town, but other than that the book is a much different story, one that I found lacking depth and emotional connection.

The narration, told in dueling, first person POV is mechanical and tells rather than shows. I never felt strong compassion for Liam's struggles that lead to him leaving Josie.

I hated how Josie treated Nick, who for all intents and purposes was Noah's father. It was, in my opinion, something I might not have finished if I hadn't seen the movie first.

That said, I am interested in reading the next book and seeing Katelyn get her HEA, as her loss was the single most powerful thing about Forever My Girl.
